Is this an official PSA measurement?
No. This tool compares your card's border ratios against commonly published centering guidelines. It's an independent estimate, not an official grade, and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by PSA.
How accurate is the read?
It's only as accurate as where you place the guide lines. A straight, well-cropped scan (ideally 1200 DPI) gives the most reliable read; an angled or blurry phone photo will throw the numbers off.
What does the "Centering grade" number mean?
It's an estimate of where your card's border ratios fall against centering benchmarks that are commonly published in the hobby, shown as a single number (10 down to 7, or "6 or below"). It is not a prediction of the grade a card would actually receive.
Does centering alone determine a card's grade?
No. Centering is one factor among several: corners, surface, and edges matter too, and this tool doesn't assess any of those.
Does it work for the back of the card?
Yes. Switch to the Back tab and upload a scan of the back. Once both sides are uploaded, the grade estimate reflects whichever side measures worse, using the more lenient back-of-card guideline typically used in the hobby.
